Hey guys i bought the Greddy uicp and Licp and i started taking out everything to put in the UICP and couldnt figure out how to take out the old Upper pipping. I know there are 2 bolts that i need to get to but i cant . I have an socket wrench extension but not enough room to put it in. Another problem i have is that i cant seem to be able to put on my Greddy type Rs BOV on the new pipping, the screws that came with the bov are too small for the pippin entrance for the bov. Is there a write up or something?

I am not really sure what your situation looks like. The only thing i can say is if your talking about the bolts right by the fender, i went in through the plastic guard around the time and did it from there. That is if your talking about where it connects to the SMIC.

Thanks dave that site was smewhat helpfull i just cant take off those 2 12mm bolts, how did you guys take it off?

get creative. Not sure which bolts your talking about, i took mine off over 3 years ago so cant remember but use a wrench or some sockets one of the two will work. It might be a pain in the ass because you might only have space to turn it a little bit at a time but its doable.

The stock pipe is just plastic. It has a flange comming off it- i normaly have no intention of ever reinstalling the stock pipe and i normaly just break the flange.
but :

This has both a uicp and licp install.

Agreed, I just ripped it off didn't harm a thing so if I want to put it back on I just won't have to screw it in.

Honestly its been so long since i remove the stock uicp the "right" way i dont really remember what it took (i think i did it in 1999). I seem to recall removing the fuse box.
I always just yank them out. It dont hurt the pipe itself just the mounting points.

I just put mine in last summer and it's much easier to install if you remove the fuse box and air filter.

I just did this a couple days ago. It makes it a thousand times easier if you remove the fuse box and entire intake pipe/maf/filter. Once I got my stock uicp off, I cut off the mounting brackets. It makes it easier to re-install if you ever want to :thumb:
