whats goin on guys. Ive decided im going to turbo my 1990 talon n/t 4g63. I already have a remanufactured cylinder head complete with complete valvtrain and cams. I am going to get some forged pistons also. I have one quick question about the ECU. I know it would be best to get a ECU from a 1g talon tsi or eclipse gst . Ive heard that the ecu and wiring harness in the 90 talon/eclipse/lasers differs from 91-94. What would be the best way to go about getting a ECU. I know the is one of the most important factors in getting the car to run right with a turbo. Let me know

Thanks

The ECU doesn't really matter aside from manual vs. automatic transmission (since the auto's had the smaller turbo and smaller injectors) as long as you have the engine part of the harness to go with it. That is, if you use a 90 TSI or GST/X ECU you will also need that engine harness to go with it and the same pertains to the 91-94 ECU and a 91-94 engine harness.
In my experience with the conversion/swap, I was able to get everything working except for the tachometer by only replacing the engine harness and ECU (from a 91). Unless you want the tach to work, that should be all you need. I believe if you use a 90 ECU and engine harness, the tachometer should work - at least I do not see why it wouldn't.
There will be some differences in two of the connectors coming from a later year engine harness: 1) the connection running to the passenger door harness or around that area and 2) the part of the harness running on the outside part of the drivers side center console (by the radio). The connectors for the later years are different sizes and will not mate with your stock connections. There are many different ways to overcome this, none are extremely simple.
