i have a 97 gst A/T with 91,000 miles on it. I just put a translab shift kit in about 500 miles ago and everything was running fine. Today i noticed when shifting from 3rd to 4th it slips a little. i checked the fluid it is at the correct level. I filled the fluid up with ATF+4 from autozone (cheap stuff like coastal brand). Is this a sure sign of end clutch failure or just cheap fluid?
thanks

i don't think it would be the fluid. if you want, the best way to know is take the end clutch out and inspect the seals. if all the seals seem fine, you might have warped plates causing the slip. in either case if they're bad, you'll have to buy the kit.

Sounds like the end clutches to me... atleast thats how it was when mine went. At first it just started to slip from 3rd to 4th and eventually it just stoped going into 4th.
