Looking to loose the round can on the MR 3" system and replace it with a more factory looking muffler. Obvisously, something I'm going to weld up myself on the axle back portion, just wondering if someone has done this, or would have an idea for a muffler. Perfferably a stock looking muffler, 3"inlet, maybe 2 2.5 outlet tips. Also, going to make it come staright other than on an angle. I will post up pics if I can find the right muffler.
Thanks for any help, Austin.

Hey brainwash, are the mufflers in the link the muffler you are running in the video? If so did you have tips added, or whats the deal with them. Are you running a cat? Also on a scale 1-10 how loud is this muffler? I like loud. Sounds damn good tho.

staticbrainwash pretty much chose exactly what i would recommend. those are the nicest mufflers that look stock

OK, yes, those are the style muffler i am running. The 20" or 24" one, i can't remember exactly.

I had muffler tips put on her, just summit SS tips. 3" with a rolled angled tip. 21-22 bucks a piece.

Compared to the fart can i had on there before, this thing is a dream. Not too quiet, not too loud. With a great low rumble, and a sexy scream at wot.

Not running a cat, but i have a bullet muffler under the car to dampen the sound a bit more than just a straight pipe.

1 being stock, and 10 being a flat open dumped DP. . . I'd say this thing is a a nice 4-5.

Just a couple clicks louder than stock, but fantastic still for HW driving and cruising.

Awsome man...sounds good, and is exactly what I'm looking for. I looked for a while last night and couldn't find what i wanted, that's why I figured I'd ask here, someone was thinking like me;)

I don't get the black muffler thing.

Stock wasn't black, it was just a steel muffler. Black would almost be MORE obvious to me.

Really, any muffler like the ones i posted would work. I just prefer magnaflow.

I would assume it would give you a less of a bling factor. Not so flashy but Ive never herd one.

I think it would almost be TOO much not bling. Even a Tuffy muffler will be aluminized steel. So it won't be shiny, but it will be silver.

And seriously, sleeper is a great idea, but it's unrealistic. Well. . . to a degree. But thats a totally different thread.

I say just go for natural finish on the magnaflow. The only place mine has rust on it is where it got welded to a hanger. Which i plan to wire brush clean and spray with aluminizing.

I guess I am just used to the way things are in Cali. The more stealthy, the better for you. I was thinking of going with the black vibrant muffler and putting chrome tips on it. I dunno, it seemed like a good idea to me. haha

Magnaflow, 3" in dual 2.5" outs with 3" tips. Looks totally stock. And sounds damn sweet!

It's not polished counterpart.

You can also get them in MANY canister sizes.

How bout some clips of higher rpm' then :p.

I could take some tomorrow. Those are from when i first got my motor back. So i could do much better with it now that i've got over 3500miles on the motor. I'll do some launches, and some flyby's. Just like on magna's site.

I'll get them up in a couple days.

Not a good option if you want performance on a turbo car.

The 40series are ALL baffled mufflers. Baffled = NOT GOOD for a turbo car.

Hence why i favor magnaflow. They're all straight thru, with amazing packing material for sound dampening.

I never tried one on a turbo car but I was throwing it out there as an option because of the 3 inch inlet and dual 2.5 inch outlet he was asking about.

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone uses the XL turbo mufflers from magnaflow, or just the normal oval ones. Here is the link to the one I was thinking about.

Is there any benifits to this muffler or drawbacks. I am just looking for as much feedback as I can get on it. Let me know what you think, if its worth it, whats better, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Garret
