stock clutch + 2 step = ???

Im currently in the process of buying DSMLink, and Im still on the stock clutch w/ 92k miles. I dont believe the previous owner changed it, but Im assuming he didnt. I was just wondering if the stock clutch would be ok to use the 2-step feature DSMLink gives you for now until I get a new clutch and flywheel combo. I would only do it on the track of course. Otherwise, the car is babied when I drive it on the street. I only open it up at the track. Mods in my profile, and the clutch has never slipped before.

Shouldnt be to much worse than a normal launch, except that you already have the engine at WOT. If you need the car as a daily driver, personally I would not launch it utill you get a better clutch, just in case.

That clutch will be gone the first time you try it. With that many miles on it especially.

I installed a stock replacement in my TSi AWD and it had 1000 miles on it. After 3 launches it was ruined, and that wasn't even with a stutterbox.

If you try to launch it, you wont even feel your clutch pedal when you shift into 2nd.

I replaced it with an ACT2600 street disc kit. Now instead of slipping through 2nd I chirp into it.

2 step launches harder than a quick-slip of the clutch. You should invest in something else first.

If he slips it more use of the clutch, if he just drops it, more instant strain on the drivetrain.


Still I wouldnt do it on a stock clutch

I would say that a stock clutch with that many miles, the first time you drop it from the 2 step you will start slipping clutch. Just my .02
