ok, i loosened the drain plug, and nothing came out.i put (1) bottle of synchromesh in it and still it only began to trickle out.so how much more do i need or , is that good?:laser:

In the trans ?
with the car level, you should be able to stick your small finger in the fill hole and feel the oil.

Roughly 2.3 quarts fills the transmission if I remember correctly. And yes, you fill it until it leaks out from the fill plug.
Actually 4.2 pints. I've never bought a third quart figuring point two pints of old stuff are still stuck in there.

no, it's not good when it's trickling out of the drain plug after adding a quart. ;)

but just to re-iterate. any big aluminum/steel oil filled thing under the hood that has a bolt plugging the fill hole can safely assume that the fill plug is reference for 'full.'

unless of course you own a certain chevy truck.. those things alway do this: :barf:

yes ,i did a search on here to find out which one was fill ,and drain hole. my problem is that it grinds when it is cold ,but when it warms up it shifts fine. so which one is it when it trickles out,or when my finger touches the oil.?

Either or.

Let it trickle out until you get bored. That would be "Full"
