I'm looking at the thermal 3" exhaust system for my 90 talon fwd. Will the 3" pipes bolt to the stock converter or should i find a new one? And does the downpipe need to be 3" or will 2.5" bolt up?

On the 2G Thermal exhaust the pipe necks down to 2.5" where it mates with the cat so that it can be hooked up to the stock converter or 2.5" cat-delete DP if that is what you want to use. If you want to maximize your exhaust flow have the 2.5" section cut off (it's only a few inches) and a 3" section with the appropriate flange welded on to connect to a 3" DP/cat. Any muffler shop should be able to do this.

I have been told that the 1G is similar but I have not actually seen it myself. Maybe someone who has seen the 1G system can help.
