Ok to start off with, I just got the car running right. It was an ECU issue after all. Now that I can drive it without any problems I can notice the smaller issues (compared to what it WAS doing). First thing I noticed was that it hit 14lbs of boost. Isnt the stock boost level 11lbs? OR am I mistaken, and what could cause it to hit 14lbs. It doesnt have any leaks, checked that. Its COMPLETELY stock, has no exhaust. Straight downpipe. It is an aftermarket boost guage tapped into the vacuum line that goes to the FPR. Any help is appreciated.
Now for the NOS questions. I've been told I cannot use a dry nitrous system on a turbo car, it was never explained why I couldnt, but I was told NOT TO. So I have this ZEX Nos kit from a previous project just laying here.. Would it be worth my time to hook it up to spray the SMIC? Or would the effects be minimal since the car is stock with the 14b.

By the way the car is a 90 AWD TSi, 5spd.

not to sure why you cant use a dry kit on turbo? but i know i wouldn't just for the fact i would rather have the nitrous and fuel. but for the sidemount if you have nothing better to with it i would just spray it on the intercooler. Or you could just sell it on ebay.

See heres another thing about that , mini zilo. The Solenoid I have has two outlets on it, which it should. but it looks different than any of the ones I have seen.. It has both the oulets coming out the tap rather than one out the top and one out the side. Is this maybe a 2g part and cuasing an issue??? I dont know. I've got what looks like the old one that was ON the car befor I bought it. It was in the glove box and It looks like the ones I have seen before. One out the top and one out the side..

Run a wet kit if you do, and are you sure its not boost spike rather than it just staying at 14lbs?

nope. It holds at 14, goes smooth all the way up to it and holds it strong.. Can you tell me why its bad to run a dry kit on this car?

Yup, its just the inaccuracy of it and running it through the turbo, you see with a dry kit you run it before the maf which means you running nitrous through your turbo if you do not have a gm maf, with a wet kit you can run it after and you are not codependent on your ecu compensating for that nitrous it see's through the computer, instead with a wet kit you are giving it an ample does of fuel that it needs which in my opinion is the only way to go.

OK, so that explains it. Thanks... So would it be worth the time to put the dry kit on just to spray it on the smic? Still no ideas on the boost? It is 11lbs stock right?

You can run a dry kit I know many people that do it is just something I would personally not do and I wouldn't run over a 50 shot on our motors. Unless your bcs restrictor was removed or something I really have no idea on your turbo situation, the reason I said if it was spiking was because on my 14b I had a hairline crack in the turbo by the wastegate actuator arm and it would spike to 15 for a little and hold at 12.

I'll check for cracks on the actuator. I'm not gonna risk it on running a dry kit, I'll put it on and purge it to the smic if I get bored I guess... Just wanted to know if it was worth the time installing it to spray on the sidemount for cooling.
