i figured to save some money i want to buy a 1995 gs-t rolling shell with everything besides the motor and tranny and i would buy the motor and tranny and my friend will put the engine in for a couple hundred bucks. i found shells from $600-1500. i can get the motor and tranny for $1800. this will be a fwd 4g63t. so about 3000 compared to about 5000 for a complete gst

yea it would save me a couple grand doing it this way and thats money for extra parts

Dont expect it just to cost that much tho... the little things along the way add up real fast. Ask me how I know.

Sounds like a fun project tho. Good luck and take a lot of pictures :thumb:

How do you know? :D

LOL

Well, just like every other person on this board, I have a project car. :thumb:

You start thinking youre just going to swap in an engine... then you think - Well I might as well give it a valve job while its out, throw on a new head gasket and timing belt, right? ;)

A couple months later with a lighter wallet, youve got a stroker engine with a GT45r on it...

Sounds like a good plan, but it will add up REAL fast, my project we from a simple, just rebuild the motor that was in the car to a full stage 2 built JAckson auto engine, and SMIM and larger turbo, well in the end i spent too much money LOL

Just depends on how you do it and your patience levels. I bought a 95 gst the same way and had it running for 2 grand 100 percent stock then added a 400 dollar intercooler, wheels for 800 and paint for 700. Then some dude walked up and offered me 7 grand for it. Hmm I think I made out LOL.

I was thinking about doing the same, but got a good deal on a complete car. Now i have signs of crankwalk! somthing you wont have to worry about =)
