when i bought the car i soon removed one of the pieces of trim and found this bundle of wires just hanging from under the dash by the pedals and i cant find out where they lead to or what they are for or where they connect to??? the only information i have is: i cant roll down the passenger side window from the driver seat, but the button will work to roll the window down on the passenger side, and also next to these wires there is a hanging green wire and also a white one as well next to these ones, what are they for????? everything else seems to work just fine in the car????

these wires i found today also: one is green with yellow stripe and the other is black with green stripe, so i went to the junkyard and found that connector piece with the same color wires as the ones that are loose in my car in my car on a n/t dsm, then when i brought it to my dsm i couldnt find the piece that the connector was connected to so i started thinking that maybe that isnt the right part i am looking for to put those wires to soomething , what i need to know is, is that the right connector piece i have for those loose wires and if so where do i connect it to??

It's most likely for one of the thermostats screwed into the upper thermo housing. There are three (or more, if I'm forgetting one). One with two wires for the ECU, down near the bottom, one single-wire on the engine side for the gauge cluster temp gauge, and one near the top (visible, broken off in the left picture) with two wires for the A/C system.

My best guess is going to be that it's for your broken-off air conditioning 'coolant thermostat'... literally just to the right of the wires in the left hand picture. The bolt-like thing sticking out parallel to the ground with the white corrosion crap on the end. That's the remains of the electrical connector, which apparently was snapped off.

(Though it could go to many things, being in that location... I'd have to be there myself to check all the other possibles; stuff like the reverse light switch on your tranny.)

To me, it seems like a harness to an alarm or a turbo timer.

You should drop that bottom dash cover by your knees.

If the wires are just tapped to other wires, it was to an alarm or turbo timer that they just cut off.

Those look like the stock electrical harness wrappings, to me... you may need to trace the bundle back and see where it goes. Also, try taking off the panel just under the steering wheel (as droopy recommended), and see if the wires reach any other bundles of cut-off wires. Especially toward the driver's side door, if you're having switch problems. Though that could just be corrosion in the driver's side passenger window switch.

i think you may be right because i also noticed there is one of those little red l.e.d lights by my shift boot but it never lights up, and also i try taking out that bottom dash to see what i can find out, thanks for your input you guys!

i wish you could come take a look! thats kinda what i was thinking, that broken corroded part was the connection, so are you saying that i have the right connector piece(right picture) to connect to the loose wires (left picture) because the wire colors on each are the same, and if it is and it connects to that broken piece where can i buy a new one, none in junkyard because it seems impossible to find these cars in the yards aound here in merced, and what is that part called? also you mentioned something about the a/c system, could that be why my heater and a/c dont work, it blows air but it is neither hot or cold.
