how do you take out the front motor mount of a 2g GS-T? and im talking about the whole bracket peice. thanks

If you are talking about the front roller mount then you need to unbolt the two bolts underneath the front cross member and the mount through bolt. Then take off the bracket from the engine.

If you are talking about the timing belt side mount side then, you need to support the engine and unbolt the 2 bolts and nut on the engine mounting bracket and remove the mount through bolt.

Very well explained I just did mine last week! I put a floor jack with a rubber block underneath for support:thumb:

Ask Paul (99gst_racer). He has replaced his OEM motor mounts with polyurethane motor mounts. I'm sure he can help "yall" out. :)

How about the rear? I can't find a FAQ on this subject anywhere.

Ok, for the rear you are going to need to move some stuff out of the way(like the battery and other misc. stuff). Use a 14mm wrench(I think) to loosen up the bolts and make sure you pull out the speed sensor(10mm socketw/6" extension). Again, support the motor and loosen up the through bolt. Start getting used to cramming your hands into tight spaces.

Now, the tricky part is putting the bolts back in. It is very easy to cross-thread the bolts into the tranny. Take your time and make sure you start all the bolts into the tranny first before your tighten them down all the way, then put the through bolt into the motor mount.

I have done the same here. I must have put like 5 different motors in my car and several times on the last two(not my fault).
