An EBC when properly tuned will allow the boost curve to be modified so that it is more stable and generally able to hold more top end boost. An MBC follows the natural boost curve of the turbo/actuator, but is far simpler to setup (and cheaper).

Manual controllers wont break the bank and work amazing. 50 Bucks will get you a nice one.

Electric do the same as the manual but for example some of the Greddy controllers have cool options like data display and warning meter functions. You also have access to change boost levels from inside.

Both work well, just depends on how much you want to spend

One of the most appealing aspects of an EBC is the ability to have several preset boost levels (commonly 2-4 depending on model and brand) and being able to quickly change between one another from the cabin of the car while driving.

However the price is usually quite unappealing.

The only thing I would buy an EBC for is the fact that you can vary boost through RPM's. This is excellent for FWD's, especially, but also useful in getting a very streetable setup. You can basically create boost creep, which makes for an awesome torque curve.

But until I have $200-400 to spend however I want, I'll just be sticking to my MBC.

Pro EBC:
Boost limiter, if your boost goes over your set boost it can drop the boost to prevent over boosting and keep everything safe.
Scramble mod, which I don;t use and don;t really know how to.
Can change your boost setting without getting out of the car.
Can see peak boost
Looks cool

Cons:
They are kind of expensive

Pros manual BC:
Cheap
Easy

Cons:
Doest have all the cool lights
Cant change setting from inside car
(I couldnt think of any cons, so I just thought of some dumb ones)
