I put on some Hawk front pads and Praxxis rear pads. The rotors are clean, the caliper guide bolts are lubed, and the brake fluid is fresh. Braking performance is good, but they skreetch! Why the high pitched noise? Do i need new metal clip thingys?:sneaky:

Did you reuse the old metal clips? I did on mine, no noise.

Also, you did your rear brakes. Did you adjust the e-brake pads? Maybe those are getting low or are poorly adjusted.

Did you use anti-squeal compound on the brakes themselves? My pads came with a packet, and they sell packets at AutoZone etc. for cheap. Smear over the pads and clips before assembling.

Also clean any rust off of the top of the caliper pistons, and make sure your shims (if you have them) are secure.

First off dude if you just put the pads on and didn't use brake cleaner to clean the piston matting surfes and the rotors from any dust then that is the first place to start.

second they are new pads and if they have the shim on the back ( little metal plate) that are attached to them then they may have shiffted and are rubbing on the front hub side of the rotor...where the studs go on to the thing. That happend to me when I put in some pads on a car and the guy came back and I noticed that problem. If this is so just put the shim in the right location and have someone pump the brake or set it in there so the piston hits the shim to keep it in place.

third use anti-noise lubricant to help with the noise before the brake-in point is meet.

that should help you out a lot bro enjoy:beatentodeath:
