Hey well i just finished blowing my tranny, my 3rd gear synchro has been acting up and today i was driving and it went. It sucks i know but my question is that these fwd trannys are a mission to find, and i got about 250 bucks to work with, can or should i get a n/t gs tranny, rebuild mine (recommendations ###), or look for a turbo one? Any suggestions pleaaaaase i need help.:toobad:

I would try and find a local junk yard. I found my AWD transmission in one and it works great.

250 isn't much to work with, if you have the time you could pull the tranny and take it apart, see what you find messed up. For 250 you may end up in the same boat with another CRAPyard tranny.

I'm assuming (from looking at your profile) that you have a 1g. Truth is (correct me if I'm wrong wisemen) the 1g fwd transmissions are the same (turbo and non turbo) with the exception of 2 things that I'm aware off. The 90's are a different bread, I'm also assuming that you have a 91 car and the only reason I'm telling you the 90's are different is so you don't go out and get a 90 transmission (the arms the shifter cables attach to on the trans are shorter the a 91 - 94 trans) and then have to worry about the trans not going into gear correctly (or at all like my 90 did with a 91 -94 style trans with the longer shift arms. The turbo transmissions have longer gears then the non turbo, so getting a non turbo transmission will help you accelerate faster... who doesn't want that?. Hope this helps
