So I attempted to remove my stock manifold yesterday. I've tried to read up on as may post's as possible to aid me in my endevor. All was going very well untill I reached the final bolt. The one on the far right at the bottom of the manifold, behind the power steering pump. How in the poopie-d-poo do I get to that sucker??? I tried to fit my socket in there, too tight. Open ended wrench, no room to rotate. I even tried to move the P/S pump, but could only get the P/S loose and not completly off. What the heck am I missing here?? No one has mentioned this in any searches that I have tried on the topic. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

The eaiest way to get to that nut is to remove the pump completely like you tried. There is the 2 bolts behind the pulley and the 1 bolt at the back of the pump.

In reference to the P/S pump,
I removed the two bolts that you have to go through the pully to reach, and the one at the back of the pump, near the manifold, but I could not figure out if there was a tensioner for the belt or not. It seems as if you should be able to remove the three bolts and push it forward and slide the belt right off, but it stopps short of enough slack to do so. WHat am I missing there?

There shouldnt be a problem. You got everything disconnected. And like you said the belt should come off.

Once you get the power steering pump outta the way, do yourself a favor and gring a nice notch in the PS bracket that is blocking the bolt. Make sure that you grind a big enough spot for a socket to fit around the bolt too. Then next time you wont have to remove the PS to take the manifold off. That is what I did at least.

Thanks man. Ill remember that. That and the damned P/S heat shield are all up in the way.
