Hi all this is my first post on this forum, I am new to DSM's and turbo's in general. I recently traded my 92 civic for a 90 GSX with a 16G(small) turbo upgrade, other than that it's all stock except for a complete rebuild approximately 3k miles ago. The car had a few problems like the common cold start issue which I have fixed thx to this site as well as a CEL thanks again to this site, that was just an O2 sensor. Car seems to run fine now with one exception that I just noticed if I rev the car to lets say 4k while in neutral there seems to be some oil sputter comeing out of the tail pipe. Just from my experience with V-8's and such this is bad but I have never had a turbo car before, so I would like to know if this normal since the car is under pressure from the boost. Thanks for the help

Are you doing it after you just started it, or just after a drive? Heh. Could be just sooty condensation.

+2, this is very common for any modified dsm. If it were oil it would burn before it got to the exhaust tip and the car would be smoking instead.

It happens when I start the car up. but I never thought about soot (sp?) and condensation, I will have to go and check it to see if it is oiley

If there is any fuel upgrade it could be running rich. Mine did the same thing after installing bigger injectors.

Mine does the same thing. I have bad valve seals so I sent the head to the machine shop. I know you said you had a full rebuild, but I thought I would just throw that in there.
