Hey everyone. I just purchased a B16G from forced performance. I also orderd the SS oil feed from Hahn. It comes with the banjo end (which goes into the turbo) and the female end (which goes into the oil filter housing) But I dont have a oil feed bolt that goes into the banjo head. Where can I get one of those? (by the way i have a 95 tsi) Now about the shaft play. I know side to side isnt bad but in and out is bad. The turbo is brand new and i can feel slight in and out play. Maybe like a 16th of an inch. Is it ok? I have a year warranty on it also... I dont feel like putting it on if its faulty because this is my only car and Ill just deal with the t25 till I get a new one if I have to. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Also my SS oil feed line comes with a 90* fitting that is real big on one side and dont know what will fit in that? but the other end fits in the turbo but will have to take it apart to screw it in. its too wide to screw in. did I get in a wrong kit?

1/8" in/out shaft play sounds excessive. I would call FP and discuss it with them. For the banjo bolt just go to the dealer. I believe they run about $6. Make sure they understand it is oil feed at turbo and not the cylinder head as that one is smaller.

I have a used 16g here in the house that I just checked. Absolutely no in/out shaft play, about 1mm side to side. My E316g had a couple millimeters side-side out of the box but tightened up after it was installed and there was oil around the bearing. BTW, I noticed a 16g listed in your profile. If you still have it you might want to compare with that as a baseline.

well side to side is ok i know that it goes aways when there is oil. the 16g i just got has a little of both. the one in my profile is talking about the one i ust got. I have a T-25 on now. I cant get ahold of FP till monday so..

an 1/8'' of an inch (in and out) is to much play for a brand new turbo, even rebuilt turbo's are tighter than that. I would take it somwhere local and have it checked out. If you shipped it back to FP they might look at it and tell you that its ok... in which case you just blew 30+ on S&H.

A new turbo should not have any in and out play and VERY little side to side.
For example, I have a few turbo's with 10k+ miles on them with ZERO in and out shaft play. It will get worse before it gets better.

Well I measured the axial end play with a dial. (i work in a shop) measured .002" FP said up to .004" is good. so i guess it felt more then it was to me!!! ill stop worrying and put it on!

A new 16g should have some up and down, but it should only be as much that when you feel it you have to double check a few times to actually tell it is moving. Just should be a lite movement 1mm max for a new 16g, As far as in out there is no reason there should be any. If you would have said it just barely wiggles i would have said dont worry and toss it in, but an 1/8 inch in/out is more than i have ever seen on a new 16g. Also this is just my opnion i have only seen 5 or 6 16g's and am not an expert it could be fine, but i doubt it.
