ok so where to start...

i have a 98 gst spyder with very few mods on the vehicle...i recently had a 3 inch turbo back exhaust put in (3 weeks ago) no kitties (cats)...i put in a boost gauge yesterday and ended up punching it and the gauge went out and i heard a sputtering noise from the exhaust...i popped the hood and reconected the hose and made sure the vacuum lines were zip tied down and my gauge was operational...i punched it again thinking i had solved the problem but the car continued to make a sputtering fart type noise whenever i got around 3,000 rpm...i personally think the wiring of the gauge has nothing to do with the whole "sputtering" issue...i think that the car is still getting used 2 the fact that i have no backflow and the wastegate is opening up prematurely..

other people have told me that it sounds like a fuel cut off and there is an issue with that, i've also heard that it could possibly be leaking of some hose or the downpipe (i checked the lines and the downpipe is on there pretty tight i lifted the car up earlier 2 check)

what do y'all think is the issue? what do i need 2 do 2 correct what has been wrongfully done 2 my dsm  ?

p.s. i've also heard i need new spark plugs....people are telling me everything and i cant seem 2 figure out which person is steering me in the right direction

please guys...any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

my car was doing a similar thing. Do a search for my username and you'll find three posts about it. Solved by replacing my plug wires.

probably an ignition problem. change wire/plugs

also check that the fpr has its vacuum line attached, and that the line is connected to the solenoid/ manifold(however you have it setup)
