Hey!

I did a search on fluttering BOVs and it seems like it's pretty common at low RPMs on bad BOVs. I also found out that fluttering is caused by turbo surge... But, I'm running a stock Mitsu 8 BOV on mine, mainly because my 2g had a bad leak in it. It works fine under WOT and when I accelerate at a decent pace, but when it's at low RPMs I can hear and partially feel it flutter. There didn't seem like there was a screw that I could adjust. Any thoughts or comments?

You could always try the Evo 9 blow off valve. It is metal and can hold the pressure better.

Eh...

I got the Evo 8 BOV for 30 bux. Alaska has, oddly, a large Evo community, but they don't mess when it comes to stock parts because they keep them all. The plastic Evo8 BOV was said to take 20+ psi on the tech guide, but I'm running stock turbo and boost levels.

I don't need the metal one, maybe when I actually start boosting it a little higher.

Compressor surge? Isn't that bad for the turbo?

Will this fix the flutter, orrrr...

I kinda don't wanna touch the BOV as much as possible... Kinda one of those kinds of guys that doesn't do it unless he knows what he's doing. Why does it flutter anyways?

The evo bov mod desribed in above link is for preloading the spring allowing bov to hold more pressure. But it sounds like you need a bov with a weaker spring that will allow it to open more completely. The evo 8 has a much bigger turbo than your t-25, I don't think this bov is well suited to be used with your turbo. BTW, do you only hear the sound when letting off throttle to shift or do you ever hear it under acceleration/boost?

Ignore that question as I reread your post.:D

Well...

I don't haev a T25 from what I know. The car came with a 16g... *don't know whether or not it's a "big" or "small' one, but I'm just going to assume for now it's just a regular 16g. I should put that in my modlist but didn't think it'd matter. I also have a performance cone airfilter, and mangecor sparkplug wires. *don't ask, they came new w/a parts car*

A T25 reaches the stock boost faster than that 16g, but I dont' know. Should I raise boost levels then to get rid of this flutter?

i have a crushed 1g BOV and it flutters at low RPM with minimal acceleration...i was told it is not a big deal unless it is loud and in the higher boost/rpm range.

also i heard it could be due to a collapsed Vaccum line
