So tomorrow I install the fuel pressure solenoid and its time to play! But one of the guys att he shop thinks there should be a gasket b/w my RFL BOV and the flanged piping. When I bought the adapter so I could install the the BOV it did not come with a gasket. Basically its two bolts on either side. I tightened pretty hard but I want to be sure. I heard from talking to people some BOV require a gasket and some don't. If that the case where can I get one. TURBO XS RFL BOV with adapter plate to fit a 1g flange or a gasket type spray like silicon?

Yes, you should have a gasket between the bov and the piping. Cheap way would be go buy some gasket material and cut your own by tracing the shape and such. But you would definitely want a gasket in between two flat pieces of metal, they may look and feel flat to you, but there are tiny differences between them by thousands of an inch, and a gasket fixes that.

I like the idea if making my own gasket, for a cleaner look. Where can this be found at? Home Depot? What would I use to cut? I have a access to a air compressor with air tools, but my cuts are not that good!

Where do I purchase the gasket metal? What is it really called so I don't confuse or look like a idiot with the sales person (I hate that)?

Any auto parts store will have it. A lot of hardware stores carry it too. There are a couple of types, but I usually use the gray paper-like gasket material in a roll. If you go to an auto parts store and ask for a roll of gray gasket material, they will know what you want.

Just go into any car parts store and ask the clerk for some thrmostat gasket paper. Cut it to shape and presto. Thats what I did and mines been holding strong for 2 years.

Gasket material cost me like $1.50

I know we sell it at autozone. Just make sure to get someone who look like they know where things are, as ours is kind of hidden.
