Well today i had an appointment for timing belt change and the package included the changing of: Timing Belt, WaterPump, Tensioner, Idler Pulley, Cam Seals, Crank Seal, Oil Pump Seal, AC Belt, Powersteering Belt, Alternator Belt; for 550 bucks, i left the car at the shop and 30min later the guy said they made a mistake and the price was going to be 1000 dollars, i definitly did not take it.

but now my question is where can you get this done in florida where it is a reasonable price?!?! I can buy the parts oem for a good price, but all the places i goto charge a hella lot more than what i buy the parts for just for labor. My car is making grinding noises and i need to get it done fast, its already at 70,000 miles. Is it that hard to change timing belt and the other stuff? because a friend of mine only knows how to change water pump, but not the other stuff. And im afraid of driving the car right now, so i really need help :(

If I were you, I would have made the place, that you originally took it to, do it for $550. You agree to that quote and handed the car over. They agreed to do it. It's not your fault for their screw up.

Timing belt changes are not something to do if you don't understand how to do it. I'd recommend taking it to a respected but under the radar shop. They normally are very good with customer service and don't charge too much. I've taken my DD cars to such shops, since I'm not interested in wasting my time on them. They do good job for less money.

i dont know what i could of done to the people that told me 550 cause im only 18, but i let them go. And anyways i actually searched online for shops near where i live and i found a guy who knew knowledge of dsms, and he took me in the shop and inspected my car and we looked under the car, and told me that some of the belts looked new and i didnt have to replace, he was real patient and told me i just needed timing belt/water pump, and the seals all for 355 dollars. he also fixed this light for me for free and everything. First guy I met that did something for free and didnt rip me off LOL.
