Congrats , i guess you also just got your first computer? Post in the south east forums , im sure someone there will help .

sorry about the caps.but what do i need to know what goes wrong and with it being so old what should i replace first?

Like the Welcome page stated: The first thing you need to do is read everything in the Frequently Answered DSM Questions and the Tech Guide. You'll find the headers listed under General Forums. Read all of it. Find something comfortable to sit in, grab a soda, and just do it. Yes, it's a lot of reading, but you will be much more knowledgeable for having read it. This way, if someone does answer a question for you, you will have a grasp of what they are talking about, instead of having to follow up with a dozen more questions to explain what they just explained.

i have read most of it and i got some of it but not much i have never messed with these little motors befor all my family has v8s and thats what i grew up around but my car has an apexi safc2 computer i know its for you air and fuel but what else does it do and how do i use it?

Quoted from the tech section:

The first thing you need to do is a complete tune up. Replace all worn belts, including the timing belt and balance shaft belt. If the timing belt/balance shaft belt haven't been replaced within the last 60k miles, or you're not sure when they were last changed - change them now. If they break, you'll be paying for a cylinder head rebuild (not cheap). You'll also want to change out all filters, fluids, worn hoses, spark plugs/wires, and worn/leaking gaskets. Check the compression, do a leak-down test, check your ignition timing, etc. Basically, do all of the checks that your repair manual tells you to do - you do have a repair manual already, don't you? If not, pick one up now before moving forward with any modifications.

If it's got a safc2, then the car is probably already modified and if you don't know how to use it, it's probably best not to mess with it if the car runs fine the way it is. Use the search option at the top of the page also to find answers. You won't really get good answers if you're asking a bunch of different questions in one thread.

i have replaced it all but i wanted to know if there was anything else that needs to be done like piston rings or anything like that.

You replaced it all in two hours when you live in florida and the car is in sc? Wow sounds like you don't need any of our advice if you did all that.

If the motor isn't smoking or making abnormal noises, I don't think you need to worry about anything internal. The other stuff I stated above is probably more important first.

thx i am trying to find someone who is close by that can come and teach me how to use the safc2 or someone who has an instruction book for it that they can send me.
