Double Fuel Pump?

So my friend was showing me a "double fuel pump" setup on his VW gti. He said he has 2 because he flips a switch to turn on the secondary fuel pump. He also said it gives him great gas mileage. Now this Gti is pretty dam fast and he does have bigger injectors...so my question is, can it be done to a gsx? Or is this unheard of?

I think David Buschur did something like this on his evo he might sell a kit get on buschur and post you might turn up with some results. Anything can be done.
