I am trying to block off my FIAV and i was wondering what popular options there are. All i kno is how it works and why i wanna disable it.

Just fill it with JB Weld. In my experience, you will have to do it a few times. You fill it and the JB seeps further down before it hardens and creates an opening. I had to fill mine 3 times before it completely sealed. So be patient, it might take a day or two.

I looked for a plate here earlier and found this site: www.jmfabrications.com look for the fiav bypass plate. The only thing wrong with the site is that IE7 says the site security certificate is not good. I sent them an e-mail about it, so we'll see if they fix it.

I just want to know why you would want to block ti off. Just curious

basically, blocking off the fiav allows you to remove the coolant lines that run to the tb elbow which cleans up the engine bay a little bit and makes it a little easier to remove the tb.

I blocked off my fiav because on cold start up i idled above 2500rpms, rediculously high! and it surged. so i made my self a custom plate and gaskets and blocked the sucker off and looped my coolant line while i was at it. nice idle on startup (1500, falls to 1100 after seconds), NO idle surge, cooler TB.

I had the exact same problem and the FIAV blockoff worked for me me :thumb:
