I have this knock and i tell where its coming from i don't think its a spun bearing but i can't tell now there is so much engine noise i cannot pinpoint where its coming from. I was wondering if i can call one of you had let you listen to it and give me your opinion on it?

Your best bet is to start pulling things apart. Pull your valve cover. Make sure nothing is crooked or collapsed lifters. Do the cams move when you crank it? Is it loud or faint? Drop the oil pan.

I would drop the pan numero uno. If you dont have an oil pressure gauge, i would buy one and see what she reads. Is it RPM related? What does it do at operating temp?

Several ways to know if its rod knock is to take the oil pan off, look for metal shavings, and check rod end caps for any movement.

A easy way to check for rod knock is, let the motor idle and pull and replace one spark plug wire at a time. If the knock lessens when you pull the wire, you have a rod knocking on that cylinder.

To tell where the knock is coming from - use a PVC pipe, wrapping paper dowel, or some sort of pipe. Start the car and let it idle. Use the pipe to pinpoint the knock.

I checked by pulling the spark plug wires and i couldn't tell from there. Will I need to replace the gasket on the valve cover if i pull that off. It is a new one and its only been on there for a couple of weeks?

Is it a knock or a tick? When does it occur, only at start-up or all the time? Does the noise increase in frequency with engine RPM?

Be very specific about the noise and when it occurs.

My money is on either it being lifters, carbon build-up, or a baffle having fallen off the valve cover.

Taking off the valve cover and inspecting it can tell you if it is the baffle. Doing the MCCC treatment found here: faq.dsm.org can take away the carbon build-up, but the MCCC is kinda costly per can (you should use two) and you will need plugs.
The only way to make the lifters quit ticking is to replace them. Good Luck.

it knocks louder if you step on the gas its pretty constant. It some what sounds like its going to go away the pitich does change as the rpm increases. It does sound louder on top of the motor as to under. It shouldnt be carbon build up because the motor was just put in so it hasn't even had time for that to happen. I will check more as see what i can find
