My motor mounts different than everyone elses??

I bought inserts for front and rear motor mounts. I'm in the middle of replacing my clutch right now, perfect time to do the rear mount inserts. Pulled my mount...but is filled all the way around except for one slit on the top (see attached image). It should look like this. There's nowhere to put the inserts! I haven't pulled the front mount yet. Why does my mount look different?

When I bought my mounts there was only an insert for the front mount. The rear was a full replacement.
