Cam Gear Interference

Hi, All,

Can anyone with more DSM experience than myself tell me if aftermarket, adjustable cam gears for the 1G/2G engine interfere with the upper cam gear cover like they did on my Evo?

No. They'd better be the exact diameter of stock, or there's going to be trouble. Were the Evo gears wider? I've not heard of this being an issue with DSM adjustable cogs.

How did you fit the timing belt over the "bigger" cam gears on your evo?

Sorry, I should have clarified. Are aftermarket adjustable cam gears for the 1G/2G engines wider than the stock gears such that they grind on the inside of the stock upper cam gear cover? Thanks.

I dont see why they would be much wider. If they are, its not going to be my much. But you can always take the top cam gear cover off if you want.

They are about if not the exact Width of the stockers. I have Aem cam gears and I have no rubbing problem at all.
