alrighty car didnt smoke before... car is a 95 tsi. all stock but 3 inch downpipe. stock boost and all. boost is at about 12 pounds. (and i also have cheap 87 oct. gas in... i no i no i put it in by mistake)
when i rev it from standing over the engine there was oil coming out of the exhaust manifold gasket. (the bolt was loose) it was liquid oil not just blue smoke. then i tightend it up and revved it again then a bunch of grey smoke came out of my downpipe (it was not connected to the cat back yet). like alot, a big cloud. I held the rpms up no smoke at all it only does it when i make boost. and then today i went to check the car (the exhaust is completely connected now) it doesnt smoke. well only a tad bit. (has stock cat back) i dont think the cat back will stop it from smoking that much. think its my stock t25? car has 95k on it. i just did a timing belt on it. (whoever did it prior had the exhaust off one tooth)
hopefully its only the turbo. not my rings. im doing a comp. test on weds at work and i also got a CEL now but not worried bout that ###### just from my downpipe... what do you guys think? thanks!
tony

the stock t-25 goes out about 80000 , some last longer , check for shaft play of the turbo , remove the intake and feel the compressor wheel with fingers side to side shaft play should be minimal (thats how turbo lubricates) but should not touch the housing , in and out there shouldnt be shaft play at all. Let us know, happy holidays

You might have effed up the seals. Pull your lower IC pipe and look for pools of oil.

Also, make sure the oil return line isn't kinked. It can cause oil to back up into the turbo and over time blow the seals out.

i just blew my seal out, its smokeing too. I dont have balanceshafts and just got the engine rebuilt, 6bolt, only has like 500 miles on it so far. Only pressure is high, but ( according to the stock gauge ) never goes past the 2nd line before the the H zone of the gauge. Its pretty high though, theres no kinks in the line. Seals cant just be replaced huh, id need a whole rebuild turbo, or new turbo. The turbos oil/ coolant set up is set up like stock. Was thinking of getting a evo3 but dont want it to be a problem that effects that turbo as well? Any suggestions.
