some where in Jersey.., New Jersey
Hey guys/girls

I had sputtering problem with my car and some other problem with it so took it to jnz tunning to get the car check up in PA. Found out that it's arcing where coilpack and sparkplug wires meet but didn't get a chance to swap 1g coilpack on there. Just curious does spark plug wires has to be on different position? Starting from coilpack the far left one goes to 4-3-2-1, Also when i purchased the car spark plug wire was on different way. I don't remember but it's causing my car hard to drive. 5th gear car seems like engine is shacking and 2,3,4 under 2000rpm engine shakes also.

Could anybody help?

Thank you,
Joe

By the way, my car would sputter at high rpms and when I checked, the wires were routed wrong. When I arranged them right the stuttering went away... OMG

Thanks alot for info. One more thing how does 1g coilpack seat? i'm guessing 4-3-2-1 rite? so on the coilpack how is the number go? 4-3-2-1, 4 being close to the head.

I have chilton book but i let somebody borrow it and he keep forgetting it to return it to me. Hopefully this will help little bit of sputtering problem but i will have some since my coilpack is arcing.

Thanks

anybody know how coilpack is number? close to the head is 4-3-2-1 correct? or other way around like 1-2-3-4

Yes.

If doing a 6 bolt swap, get the wiring harness for the coil pack and cam angle sensor. Mine was running like shit, and it was because the coil pack was in the wrong order. Switched it up, runs fine.

I already have 6bolt swap done already and it was running fine until 2 weeks ago. Car was sputtering around 4000rpm, now i have changed the sparkplug wires with ngk and i'm sure it's in the right order but it seems like it's still doing it. Coilpack order is 4-1-2-3 and on the valver cover its sitting 4-3-2-1, It's odd since it's causing the car to cause sputtering even more now with new plug wires and in 5th gear or 2-4th gear if i'm above 2000rpm engine seems to be shacking alot. I know my coilpack is arcing but would it be this bad after i changed new plug wires??

What type of CAS do you have?
Does it happen all the time, or just randomly it is a sudden loss of power?

Magnus motorsports did a writeup saying how certain cam angle sensors will throw a P0300; Multiple Cylinder Misfire and cause HUGE power loss. Unless you have DSMLink/EMS, or did the barometric pressure modifier, it can happen. The black top (93 model) CAS seems to have the least chance of it happening.

All the way at the bottom.

Yeah i know about this but if i'm getting misfire i should get check engine light yes? I had check engine for while but it was because o2 sensor was not there since i dont have cat. I had the car about 4 month now in the beginning it was fine until month ago.

Basically exhaust was getting quite and it seems like i was loosing boost. So took it to the shop did the boost leak test first and found few small problem that were fixed. Also found out my exhaust gasket was leaking and it was arcing where coilpack and spark plug wires were connected. So replaced the wire with ngk, 4 layer exhaust mani gasket, turbo gasket but on the way to school it was sputtering lot more than before. So i'm thinking about replacing the coilpack with 91+ style coilpack and i have the blacktop cas at home thinking about getting that installed. So if i want to replace the cas i could just unistall the old one and install the blacktop? because i have read that you have to time the belts again which i'm not sure about.
