2G Newb ECU question

I just got my new EPROM ECU and just wanted to make sure I wont be frying anything.
So, do I need to ground the ECU or will unplugging the battery suffice?

You can just unplug the battery cable, this will reset the ecu. Once you have the new ecu in, reconnect the battery cable and start your car. The car may run rough at first as the car is getting used to the new ecu.
