I thinking about purchasing some arp headbolts. Now I have no reason to pull everything apart since its rebuilt motor. So I was wondering would it be safe to pull the old head studs and just put the aprs in or would this just cause problems?

The proper way is to pull the head to replace the studs but many have, myself included installed the studs with the head in place. What you want to do is replace one stud at a time & follow the same sequence they follow in the manuel as far as which stud to replace when. Make sure when you install the new ones to torque them down in a few steps, say 3 steps & make sure your last step has a good step, ie you don't want to torque the stud to 75, then finish it off with 80. I would say you want atleast 20 ft/lbs difference on the last step. Torque them to ARP's spec. Also one other thing do not tighten the studs in the block, this can screw up the torque reading. When I did mine I screwed the stud fully in & then back out abit & repeated a few times to make sure the threads were clean then once I knew it was bottomed out properly, backed it out about 1/4 turn then did my torque sequence.

Whats the torque specs on the ARP's? The final torque?

Depends if your talking 6bolt or 7bolt studs & also if your using oil or their molylube, which you should be using. If I recall the recommended torque spec is 75 ft/lb for the 7 bolt studs & 80 ft/lbs for the 6 bolt but they will come with an instruction sheet telling you all the specifics for install & recommended torque specs.
