Confused on wiring 2g mas to 1g plug

Ive read the vfaq for over and hour on how to wire the 2g mas to the 1g mas plug for the plug and play mod and I cannot figure it out. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

The color code on the 2g mas plug I have is as follows: from left to right looking at the "wire side" is

#1 green w/ yellow stripe
#2 pink
#3 white w/ black stripe
#4 black w/ red stripe
#5 black
#6 red w/ blue stripe
#7 green w/ white stripe
#8 no wire

I have a spare 1g mas plug im using, Im just not clear on what wire goes where. Thanks.

I used this to wire my 2g Mas into a 1G, after reading the instructions 2x's it should make sense. I followed them to the letter and my harness worked perfectly the first try.

He's what I've posted before and seems to work.

Pin 1 on the 2G connector goes to the green/red wire that was pin 4 on the 1G harness.
Pin 2 on the 2G connector goes to the green/yellow wire that was pin 7 on the 1G harness.
Pin 3 on the 2G connector goes to the green/blue wire that was pin 2 on the 1G harness.
Pin 4 on the 2G connector goes to the red wire that was pin 3 on the 1G harness.
Pin 5 on the 2G connector goes to the green/black wire that was pin 6 on the 1G harness.
Pin 6 on the 2G connector goes to the green/orange wire that was pin 8 on the 1G harness.
Pin 7 on the 2G connector goes to the green/white wire that was pin 1 on the 1G harness.
Pin 8 on the 2G connector has nothing.

It seems confusing because he has a bunch of different connectors with different wire colors and different orientations on the plug in different pictures.

First, establish how the pins are numbered on each connector/socket. Then, make a chart with the wire colors and numbers on each plug and what information they carry. Then match them up like you're back in the fourth grade doing a history test.

Or you can just listen to steve... but you still have to know how the pins are numbered. Look at the connector on the side where the wires are entering with the clasp that locks the connector on top. Then it is numbered 1-8 from left to right.
