I'm getting an Evo 16g ported, but i wanted to run cams that would let me run up to at least 8000 rpms. what valves, springs, and retainers do i need? what cams should i go with?

suggestions would be much appreciated!!

I would recomend ferrea springs, valves, retainors due to top notch quality, but it depends on your budget.

An EVO III 16G will NOT hold boost to 8000 with cams, even mild ones. I'd pick a different turbo or re-think your rev limit if I were you.

Just something to consider,

Andy

then what turbo would you suggest?
what turbo can boost up to 8000rpm with cams?
i mean i'm kind of new at boosted cars, so just wondering why wont the evo 16g work? cause im tryin to get a good quality turbo with a low amount of lag but i can boost up to 8000. so what do you suggest?

You can't get both short of spray. The EVOIII 16g is a good all around turbo but there isn't much of a point in reving to 8k RPM's with it. I would recommend you get some other supporting mods first before you even upgrade your turbo. Logger, Injectors, Fuel Control and pump with regulator. You will find the stock 14b can take you deep into the 12's if you know what you are doing with it. Just my .02 though.
