When I bought my Talon it had a dead turbo and cracked manifold...I ended up replacing the turbo with a 16G ported with the 34mm flapper from DSMparts.com, and a new OEM manifold. I have some add ons I'm looking at and need a few ?'s answered.

I would like to eventualy make about 400whp, so I want to buy the correct parts only one time.

1. How much HP is the 16G good for? (will upgrade for rebuild)

2. I'm looking at the Blitz blow off valve, any reason not to buy?

3. I was looking at the Ebay FMIC's but there no clear opinion on how well they work and how much boost they will hold, so whats a good price and company with proven FMIC setups?

4. I'm looking at the Blitz DSBC R and TT, or the Greddy Profec B and TT..Pros/Cons of each?

5. I have a 120,000 miles on the car and am going to rebuild the motor soon. I dont race just want a real nice street car, so I want to do a stroker motor. 2.3 or 2.4 long throw?

I've pretty much figured the fuel system will use a Walbro 255..AEM rail..Aeromotive FPR..and RCE 750cc injectors, and a DSM link for control.

1.) Less then your 400whp goal.

2.) I don't think you can recirc the blitz. Get a 1g.

3.)Check the huge Ebay fmic thread.

4.) I've never used either but to save money i'd go with a manual boost controller.

5.)I would stick with a 2.0l if you plan on keeping the 16g.

Also, there is no need for the AEM fuel rail.

Here's my answers.

1. 16gs won't break 400mark. In some rare cases i've seen people max out at 350hp but thats maxed out with meth or race gas. For a 400hp mark i suggest a 30R or higher and if you're hungry for more, there's still power in them. Specially if you plan to go stroker 2.3 or 2.4 those are better choices of turbos to buy with stroker setup.

2. I think HKS bovs hold pretty good, greddy are decent. If you chose blitz, make sure you buy the recirculation adapter piece. If it was me, I'd buy a TiAL bov, one time buy like you said. But that applies for those who have EMS or MAFT.

3. I have the XS FMIC kit. Works great. I never had any leak problems and i'm boosting at 25psi. Been pressure tested over 30psi too. Check the big ebay thread about it (Looks like AGP FMIC kit)

4. Manual boost controller is plenty

5. Don't worry about the mileage, do a compression test and if you have good even numbers then there's no need to rebuild the motor. My motor was strong with 120k miles and made 445whp on stock block. (I had 150-160 all across) Stroker is a sweet street setup though

No need for AEM fuel rail and 750cc injectors is too small for 400+hp setup unless you have Meth. I'm still using 660cc with Meth, but without meth you would require 1000cc at least

at least 1000cc's for only 400hp?

1. 280-380 depending on setup http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=52&
2. Make sure it recirculates or get a blow through setup
3. Check the ebay thread; my opinion I don't trust ebay for big parts like that, but there are plenty of people who love their ebay FMIC.
4. I use a Hallman Pro RX MBC for my setup.
5. No need to fix something that isn't broke. x2 on the compression check.

Your fuel system should be walbro 255, AFPR, your 660's are fine (it is what I have), and DSMLink.

You can look at my profile to see my setup. I will be dynoing my car in a couple of weeks, but according to DSMLink I am in the area of 400+ HP on a EVOIII 16g. All of the cars I have seen DSMLink on, there dyno was almost the same as what the link said (like within 1-2 hp). Now my motor is slightly different than most strokers, in that it is high compression. But if you would like to reach 400hp easier and cheaper the big turbo is the way to go.
