To start it off, my car is N/A. I have plans of putting a turbo in my GS. I was wondering. If I put Turbo Headers and a Turbo Back Exhaust on my car, it's wouldn't be bad for the car would it? Would I get the same power gains as a normal 4-1 Headers with Turbo Headers or better/worse?

I just wanted to build up the car to the point where it would be able to withstand the power of a turbo before I put one in.

You can't put a turbo header on your car because it is COMPLETELY different that a N/T header and a turbo exhaust, probably 3" would take away power with the loss of restriction. And on a stock motor your car can only take 5-6 psi anyways so you would need to build the motor before making any REAL power.

Agreed. You can't use any products for the turbo models aside from, say, a GST catback exhaust system. At that, 3" ID will be overkill. You will lose gas velocity in the low end, translating into weakness.

Visit 2GNT.com and, under "Cars" in the wiki, you'll find links to the power stages. This will help you get going on the right path.

Thanx alot! I'm glad I asked before I went ahead and did something stupid that I would have regreted. Y'all really know your shit on this website!

Hey you can put that 3 in exhuast on there and you won't really lose that many horses. In the winter it don't really matter anyways. It will sound better and power loss with the 420a will probaly be unnoticable. Im going 3 in for christmas and will turbo in the summer when the income increases.

You would be surprised the loss. I know big hp v-8's that don't even use 3" exhaust. And it will sound cool and you will notice the loss in bottomend.

well i guess 3in will be a little to big for insufficent power loss but i would say 2 3/4 would work just fine. But those big hp v/8 don't get to the rpms that our cars do. From what i know they have dual exhaust and those lower rpm give out less exhuast so it make a little sence. i know of a 400 hp mustang with small exhaust(kinda small LOL) but red lines around 5500-5700 (auto but aftermarket tranny.)when are cars redlines are around 7100 (420a). that is my 2 cents but man just do want you want to do.

For being N/T, i'd just stick with either a 2 1/4- 2.5 inch exhaust. I mean, 2.5 inch works perfect for us turbo guys so i would see no need for a N/T to go much bigger then us exhaust wise. Either way its your decision, just spend money and choose parts wisely.

So, even if I was to get a turbo installed, I still wouldn't be able to get Turbo Headers?

Is there any other parts that are turbo parts(not GS-T/GSX parts) that I can't use?

Not really because the bolt pattern on the head is different. You could use a stock GST catback for a little gain maybe.

So, installing a turbo won't effect anything like a 4-1 headers in a bad way would it? I just though that, if I had a turbo installed that I would have to use turbo headers. Shows how much I know about cars. LOL.

You can use turbo headers, but they are usually called exaust manifolds. But not from a 4g63. Have to use a 420a manifold. Then you need a o2 housing and downpipe for the exhaust as well.
