Honing questions

After my spark plug melting and put a hole in the 1piston I'm going to have to change the pistons. Now my question is do I have to hone the block before I put the new rings/pistons in? My Comp. #'s were good before the accident happened. So will it hurt not to hone the block and just install the new pistons/rings? I'm not going for alot of power but maybe 230 to 250 horsepower. I need to get thsi done a quick as possible the head will be off by Wednesday(work 55+ hrs a week at work). And I need to now if I have to hone the block.

if your going through all that trouble might as well give it a quick hone. without honing the rings will not seat.


edit. make sure you didnt scratch the cylinder walls up. then they will need to be bored over

You always hone when you replace the rings. A berry hone is all you need.
