Motor locked up I think!!

Well I finally caught the ghost. Today I was driving on the interstate and my car just died. Fuel is good had it towed home first thing I did was take the spark plugs out but here the funny thing. All plugs come out BUT the 1 plugs I tried to take it out but its locked in. The motor only clicks when u try to crank it. But earlier it turned over just fine. The timing is dead on but it will not turn over..I really need some help if the motor is shot I'm out of the DSM game.....

Well at first the motor spun over fine just acted like it was getting no fuel NOW it will not even spin over.

It could have blown when you were on the road, and it just now locked up.

Looks to me that the plugs melted and I look at the piston and YEP there is a hole in it. What could cause this??

No probs ran fine. Guess this means its time to change the pistons. Actually the car had been running good, no misses or anything bad in general..It just died at 95mph I coasted to the off ramp. I checked to see if T.B. had broke but when I lifted the hood the first thing I saw was the dipstick sticking out. I tried to turn it over and it did spin over but no fire, guess I know why. Hopefully my head is fine I just replaced it like a year ago..

I don't see how this could have happened all of a sudden for you not to have noticed a drop in performance. Also, I wouldn't just throw new pistons in before you diagnose the problem or you could just be wasting a good set.

the dipstick sticking out? maybe there was no oil.

try to turn it by hand. dipstick out means you have blowby either from a grenaded piston or rings. either way its gonna need to be opened up.

maybe leaned out and detonated? is that head still ok, jeez looks like your gonna have to heli coil that spark plug hole.

What did the other 3 plugs look like? Rich? Lean? Melted like the plugs in my tempo

Those plugs look good as far as i can tell. Maybe the injector for #1 took a dump causing a lean condition.

Holy crap man was there any pieces in there when you took the head off or did they make it too the turbo!? Might wanna check that turbo.

Turbo is locked up..I got the valve head that was sitting on top of the piston..

damn.. the same exact thing happened to my boy's integra type R.... well... there is the excuse to rebuild and make a beast of your car.... good luck with the rebuild....
