I have heard that a 95-96 transmission will not fit in a 97-99 eclipse, and vice versa. I have also heard that the 95-96 WILL fit in the 97-99 cars and vice versa...does anyone know if they would or not? by the way, this has to do with future plans of swapping a manual transmission into my 96 Auto GSX...thanks

in any awd swap that is going from auto to manual, make sure the Tcase and the trans came from the same car, and would help on the rear diff too, but I think any rear diff will do as long as you get the matching axles, but the Trans/Tcase must match or your final drive will be off.

Ive been down that road, but just kept mine auto. Good luck.

The trans and xfer case must match, ie 95-96 and 97-99 with same. The auto rear end is a different ratio so you'll need a manuall rear end, they're the same throughout the years.

thanks for clearing that up, i knew the trans/tcase need to match, wasnt sure on the diffs, but now that i recall from my list for the diffs ( i should of looked first ) has "ANY Manual" underlined...
