is the balance shaft removal process a common thing in alot of cars. cause i'm debating having a shop finish my rebuild and i'm wondering if they would know what to do cause i'm halfway through the balance shaft removal. but i wouldnt want them making things worse any suggestions?

yes its fairly common upgrade, alot op people like to do it b/c it frees up horsepower(less parasitic drag on the motor) and some people just do not want to dick with another belt to change or have a bearing or something go in the BS and toast your motor....if its all apart I wouls say just go for it and be done with it. BS kit is not much more than the freakin belt itself. You might notice a little more vibration but nothing to terrible.

print that off, give it to whoever is building your engine and tell them to follow the instructions. if they can't do that, find another shop. i've had a b/s belt failure (with a brand new belt) and a friend of mine had a b/s bearing failure (with new bearings) - niether is very pretty.
