Engine still misfire, getting closer to a solution. When engine is running, every 2 minutes it will cut and go, engine jerks a little. I pull out the 550's and put back in the stock with the stock ECU, nothing happen. So I clean out the 550's and reinstall it with the Eprom ECU nothing happen, engine still doing the same. While engine is still running, I unplug cylinder 4 sparkplug wire engine sounds the same and moving onto cylinder 3. The minute I unplug it, engine rpm lowers down and start back firing and stumble as it was going to die. So I did the same to all and only 3 and 1 will react this way. This leads me down to just 3 and 1 being in the crap hole.

Any help will be appriciated.

Jerry,

Have you tried changing the coil pack and also checking your coil pack connections to the wiring harness? I'd also pull the plugs from 3 and 1 and have a look at them to see if they're soaked in fuel which would indicate insufficient spark. Are the plug wires new, old, from the Jurassic Period?

Fill me in pal,

Andy

hey buddy if you pull number 3 and 1 and they mess with the firing then those are your good cylinders. 2 and 4 are messing up so i suggest looking at those. If nothing happen when you pull those wires out then they are doing nothing. and check that connector that goes into the coil pack and the timing maybe

You're right. Try swapping wire 2 and 4 at the coil or tell us the order from left to right on the coil.

Its weird tho, pulling out 2 and 4 and the engine still runs normal but it do create spark. However, pulling 3 and 1, engine starts cutting out and back fires a lot.

All spark plug wires are still pretty new and I also swap it with another set and still the same issue. There are no signs of fuel around the spark plugs, but when the spark plugs are pull out it was kinda oily tho, but not much. The sparkplugs are new and the motor has not been driven hard yet, its still under 900miles.

So let me get this right, for Eprom: wires from cylinder is 4 3 2 1 = 2 4 1 3 at the coil pack.

I'll try reading on how to test the coil pack and start testing it tomorrow. I stumble across some article stating that it might be the PCM. What is a PCM? Is it the ecu?

I've swap out Eprom back to stock system with stock fuel, nothing happen. So this tells me its not the ECU.

Thanks guys

Unless 2GB using 95' eprom requires switching wires around, order on the coil pack should be 4123. Have you try swapping 2 and 4 like suggested?

I've tried just about everything. The only thing left is to order a new coil pack. I just did some test on the coil pack and power transistor and these are the numbers.

Coil pack: 0.00 ohms primary and 12.4 ohms in all four during secondary.

Power transistor: 0.64 ohm in all while doing the continuity test with a 1.5 cell battery.

I not sure which one is bad. They seem to look good to me. I am getting ready to order or pick up a coil pack at the dealership, but I don't want to waste paying $175 for a new coil pack and then comes out not being the problem.

Thx
