I see some ads that say that they have taken off the engine balance bars and this is listed under the Mods...how is this a mod? Doesnt an engine need to be balanced...or else the car will shake? If someone could let me in on what this is all about it would be great! Im new to Cars let alone DSM's
Thanks!

The balance shafts are designed to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness in an engine. The downside to this system is when something goes wrong with this system, it can quickly kill an engine. A broken balance shaft belt can easily take out the timing belt. Bad balance shaft bearing bits can find its way into other parts of the engine and ruin it. Removal of the balance shafts removes those potential maintenance headaches.

Fresh fish.

By patent, they're called Silent Shafts. We call them Balance Shafts.

Balance bars are for falling off of during gym class, when it's too rainy to go outside.
