so i got a new xs power fmic for my 2g, question is will it bolt up to a stock turbo or was it ment for upgrade turbos (with j pipes / w/o j pipes)??

i know a fmic isnt really needed for the pin wheel of a 2g turbo but gotta wait until xmas for new turbo, and dont really want it sitting in my garage beckoning me to install it for that long :p

sigh... well i guess i better go look for a saw LOL

so pretty much i can just cut it anywhere right? (to make it face downwards... within reason ofcourse).

also any special tools i should use or will the good ol' dremmel do the trick?

I don't see why you couldent cut it as long as you are careful. I don't think a Dremel will do the trick though, the metal on the compressor housing is pretty thick for a dremel. If you remove the turbo a good ol hacksaw and elbow grease will work.

You might also be able to just jury rig the whole thing for a while by running some tubing from the compressor housing outlet to the fimc piping.

if your going to cut your stocker make sure you sand the edges down after so it doesnt cut up the coupler. Also you might have boost problems with that coupler blowing off since its not beaded. Possible major turbo lag due to having such a huge ic, I hope your not staying stock for long. By the way i have that fmic too love it!

i called my buddy today and he said we could use his plasma cutter (or whatever its called) so that should help making a nice clean cut.

plus the turbo lag cant be as bad as what im experiencing now.... atleast i hope not. (multiple holes in current stock pipes :p)

for xmas i should be getting an sbr or pte 50trim so that will run nice with this setup.

i was thinking of getting some piping and just rigging it so that it works for now... but cutting seems alot easier >.<

as for the coupler blowing off what would be a good temporary fix for this??

Made for downflow turbos. So it wont work with the t25 unless you hack it up.

Not true. Here's how I did it with T28.

You'll need to have a muffler shop cut/weld it where you need.

Put a bead made of epoxy or JB weld on the turbo outlet, or I hear hairspray on the coupler works too.
There's a better way. Weld a bead line to the ends...it holds better than the pressed "bead" (which is slippery) that came on the stainless pipes. Tighten the clamps down behind the bead welds and the coupler or the clamp will break before it pops off.

awsome :D

not sure which route to take at this moment but I think im going to hack the turbo and turn it into a downflow. its only 45 or so days until xmas, plus my campus has lots of really high speed bumps so im not sure the routing would work right. on saturday I'll post some pics of my setup :) (whichever I end up choosing)
