Ok lets start here I'm taking off my head to have it machined and replace the head gasket. I got the timing belt cover off and i find the balance shaft belt lieing in there. lucky i know it didnt catch the timing belt. but here is my real question. I want to get the balance shaft eliminator kit but what if i dont get it and just run no belt there. would i get the same results as i would with the elimator kit? would it do harm on the motor? all i plan on using it for is a daily driver but while im workin on replacing the head gasket and the joys of the other stuff ive got rid of my ac bout to wire in a switch for my fans and. now just wondering about the balance shaft.

There are two balance shafts in your engine. Cutting the balance shaft belt will only stop the front shaft, but there is rear shaft driven by the oil pump. The motor won't be harmed by disabling only one balance shaft, but you'll get more vibration from just stopping one shaft versus getting rid of both.

If you're not planning on pulling the balance shafts soon, just get a replacement bs belt and be done with it.
