I have been porting 2g manifolds on the side for awhile now and not only do i take away the step i cut out the center part that splits the 4 runners(I know they arnt technically runners but dont know what to call them on a ex. mani). Anywase i recently got my hands on an evo 3 gt mani and an old sbr one and the area i cut is still there. Have i in someone way decreased the flow by not making it a smooth transition from 4 to 1? If not how come performance companies put this in. In the vfaq it appears he has done the same, but doesnt say it anywhere.

Yea you need to leave that in. It keeps the flows from running into each other, makes for a smoother transition.
