Everyone talks about the 6 bolt swap, I'm about to do the swap in a couple weeks. I tried searching and no luck. What exactly is involved in the swap? I currently have a 97 7 bolt in my car, and I'm going to have my mechanic install the 6 bolt. But what do I need? Do I need the shortblock, with the 6/7 bolt swap kit from slowboy? With the short block would I need the 6 bolt head, or do I use the existing 7 bolt head? Or am I supposed to buy the whole longblock? I'm kind of lost with the whole thing.

because 7 bolts are pieces of shits :beatentodeath:

You sir are a retard. Read up on how many suscessful built 7 bolts there are and how many people build them and run high HP numbers stock. You obviously know very little about these cars.

If your 7-bolt works, keep it until it doesn't. If its dead and you have to pull it out anyways, then the 6-bolt swap takes only a little bit more effort than swapping in another 7-bolt and I would do it.

This topic has been covered many many times, the links Adam supplied you with should keep you busy for awhile and answer most if not all of your questions.

Agreed. If it works leave it in. But if it breaks, I would swap it.
