engine sputters from around 3500 to 5000 RPM

Whats up, I recently bought a 95 TSI AWD, when i first bought it it had major boost leaks, fixed all those and slapped on a front mount, got a tune up and it ran pretty good except my engine sputters from around 3500 to 5000 RPM, but only during full throttle and over 10PSI if its under that its ok, checked for more boost leaks not a prob...my turbo has some play to it, and i was told it could be my timeing belt, just wanted to hear some other ideas of what it could be..thanks

How did you perform your boost leak test. Did you use an air compressor?

Check the turbo for shaftplay.

If you had a boost leak for a while than you might have fouled out some plugs from running rich. I would change/clean the plugs and see how she runs. Also check your plug wires and make sure none of them have burned holes through the casing and are arcing.

Just curious what kind of spark plugs are you running and what gap?
