I just took my head off and my pistons move inside my cylinders just a little bit. Is that a bad thing or a common thing? The car ran fine did not smoke or anything like that. car ran good for the most part until the head gasket.

Taking the bottom end of the motor apart is not something I want to do though. So does anyone know if its a bad motor or what?

its really hard to tell from this side of my computer but im guessing you might have a cracked / worn ring because pistons are not supposed to move from side to side a noticable amount. but if it was running fine before then i wouldnt worry.

I just got donr talking to a local machine shop. they said I little play in the piston is ok. I will still do the test and post it though.
