Is it normal for the brake pedal to become solid, almost un movable while accelerating under boost ?

I find it wierd, never had a car do that...............:dsm:

Mine does that also. If I release the accelerator the brake pedal is so hard and it takes a second to soften up. It scares me sometimes because the brakes dont work for that split second. Where you trying to brake boost?

Yea yours does the same shit my car does. I never knew what it was. I dont think its normal. You should have made the title brake problem, more people might chime in. I would like to know also?

Hmm faulty check valve in the booster line eh ?

Can u elaborate more on this anyone ?:dsm:

Thanks

Do not use "u" here.

Not really much to elaborate- The brakes are boosted by vacuum in the booster can, pulled down by the intake manifold when not boosting. To keep it from equalizing to atmospheric before you use it, there's a check valve in the hose between the manifold and the booster.
Run the car a few minutes and shut it off. Wait five minutes and try your brakes. If they're hard, or go hard with only one or two strokes, replace the check valve.

Ahhh, thank you for that bit of info Defiant mine goes rock solid on the third push in, Ill replace that too since Im in the process of a full over-haul.

Thank u 4 the info, it is very much aprecieted, however, do not presume to tell me how 2 type, this is a chat forum not English 101. Short hand typing is common and rampant and perfectly normal in an informal setting such as this.

Thanks again and have a good one :dsm:

We are aware that texting cell phones and the general spread of the internaweb, along with a Teacher's Union that is far too strong and filled with individuals whose membership is much more focused on days off than actually imparting knowledge to unset-minds, here at DSMtuners we still shovel sand against this onrushing Collapse of Western Civilization.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation, and enjoy your rest.
