I want to get my baby down to 2600lbs. without me in it. It's a 95 Talon AWD. So far I've got:

Front/rear bumper supports
Door-bars
Rear/Hatch carpet, paneling, seats, etc.
Removing sound deadening/tar
Carbon Fiber hood
Carbon fiber hatch? (IDK how much this saves)
Air-bags
Exhaust shields underneath the car
A/C (removed already), heater boxes

The car does not have a sunroof. I would remove the spoiler but it's only 15lbs. or so, I'll keep it for looks. Give me some ideas because I'm running out. I could take out the drive shaft, but I think I need it :thumb: Thanks and later...

it takes a lot to get a 2g down to 2600 pounds and it is pretty much impossible without taking a saw to the interior and cuting out a bunch of metal. I have a striped 1g and i doubt i am much below 2800 pounds. My friend has a race 1g with a roll cage and that car probably weighs about 2600 pounds with a driver. Remember these arnt hondas, shep still runs full interior. Good luck

CF hatches arent saving you much, you would save more by replacing the glass with lexan. Look into light weight suspention. Look for a CF wing if you like it that much. Remove the radio, speakers, antena and motor. Wipers and motors. Take as much out of the engine bay as you possibly can (ie cruise control...)

but as said, getting a fat A$$ 2g to 2600 wont be easy, or street friendly.

Is this going to be a race car?

Lightweight battery, remove cruise control, forged 15/16's, stereo and speakers, power antenna, rear wiper and wiper motor, spare tire replace with fix a flat, remove all a/c components, maybe a shorter side exit exhaust, lightweight flywheel, remove balance shafts, remove sound deadening, replace hood latch with pins, cut out some of the underside hood bracing or go carbon fiber, light racing seats, replace any steel ic piping with aluminum, remove unnecessary bolts, and fittings, interior panels and carpeting if you can live without them. That should keep you busy for a while and is a decent start...

Driveshaftshop's alum driveshaft, weights in at 12lbs, where as the stock one weights in at 22lbs. The CF Hatch won't do much unless you replace the glass within it with lexan, gut the insides of the doors to a bare minimul of what you need to work. If you can cut the hump thats in AWDs, and weld it flat, that takes off like 3lbs, or something like that, dry cell battery, remove ps pump, ps resevior, and hoses, light weight rims like a set of 13lbs rx7 wheels. I don't think its possible to get it down to 2600lbs without going full race. Lightweight CF or Kevlar seats, under 15lbs each. Remove all factory seat belt stuff, it saves around 30lbs, and get 4 pt harnesses (or 5 pt, but I don't like the idea of a strap being between my legs if I crash).

That's an anti-submarine strap. It holds the lap belt down across your pelvis so that you can't slide under the belt and mash your nards with it. It's a very good strap to have.

Mashing your NARDs. Lmao that is great and you def don't wanna do that, although it is an alternative and effective type of birth control. 1 totalled car 2 smashed balls= no babies

Can you get a 1 pc fiberglass front end or carbon bumper, fenders, and hood, and maybe try to find carbon doors. It would look phat as hell 2.

Lovely. 378 members are now sporting sore chins where they raised their legs up too fast and clocked themselves with their knees.

good luck. a guy on gadsm has several carbon fiber pieces and still weighs around 2900. that includes doors, and hatch and hood. the gsx is just a heavy car

First off if you truly want to get your car down to that weight then this better be a full out race car. You will not be street legal nor comfortable if you do what it takes. Most of what I wrote in these two articles pertains to the 1G's but most of it will carry over to the 2G as well. Study them well :thumb: Also as far as the spoiler, looks don't count on a track car, remove that sucker 15lbs is actually a great reduction from a single place. If you truly want to make your car lightweight you'll want to remove every 1 lb. piece you can they add up quick.
