? on 90 oil filter housing turbo feed

I have the 90 oil filter housing, the one with the external oil cooler. According to road race engineering, the turbo feed should come from a port facing the front pointing down for filtered oil. Go to this link and go to bottom for pics and description to see what im talking about
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/i...ineinstall.htm

When I take out the allen key nut thats in the housing I see the oil cooler bypass valve (thermostat) spring I believe.
Questions are
Wouldnt this block off oil flow to the turbo until oil is operating temps and the valve opens?
Does that spring hurt flow to the turbo?
They say the hole is filtered, but is it before or after the oil cooler?
Anyone with this oil filter housing use or not use this hole for turbo feed?
Input appreciated

I couldn't find an answer to this when I did it, so I used the upper right hole and put an inline filter on the feed line.

I use the bottom hole. And since my turbo drain line leaks like crazy and puddles like there's no tomorrow the turbo must be getting enough oil from that oil.

I followed RRE's oil feed line install with the 90 housing a couple of years ago and have had no problems at all.

I hate to bring this thread back from the dead, but It doesn't seem like the quesion was really answered... Do you have to take the bypass valve out in order to use the bottom port as an oil feed line?

No, the bypass stays in place. All you are removing in a scew in plug to install the line.
